Landry Mead threw six scoreless innings, striking out seven batters as the Vidalia Indians opened the regular season with a 3-0 win over Calvary Day, Wednesday night at Greg James Field. The senior scattered just 4 hits while throwing only 77 pitches. Junior Caden Spivey came in to close in the 7th inning, for the Indians who are 1-0 on the year.
At the plate, the Indians got five hits from five different players, with Walker Moncus and Michael Blount each driving in a run.
The Indians hit the road this weekend for “Baseball at the Beach” hosted by Glynn Academy where they will play Bleckley Co. and host Glynn Co. Saturday.
