VHS Cross Country Season Ends in Carrollton

Michael Blount erased a 26-second deficit to overcome two Jeff Davis runners and take the Boys Individual Region 2AA Championship, Wednesday in Hazlehurst. Blount’s finish over the last 800 meters paired with a 4th place finish by Jace Gabbard helped the Indians to a 2nd place team finish and propelled them into the State Championship

With a challenging course and steep competition at hand, the Vidalia Lady Indians competed well, coming in 2nd place behind host Bleckley County at the Bleckley Invitational Thursday. Hitting their mid-season stride, the Vidalia Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams hit the ground running Saturday morning in Carrollton at the Carrollton Orthopedic Invitational. Senior Michael Blount and Junior Sarah Owen led their respective teams to top-ten finishes with the Indians finishing in 5th place and the Lady Indians registering an 8th place finish.
